Actualités de l’industrie

Ubisoft

L’éditeur français Ubisoft a annoncé l’arrêt du développement de son jeu en ligne XDefiant, avec une fermeture des serveurs prévue pour juin 2025. Cette décision s’accompagne de la suppression de 277 postes et de la fermeture des studios de San Francisco et d’Osaka, ainsi que d’une réduction progressive des activités à Sydney. Ces mesures s’inscrivent dans une stratégie de recentrage sur les franchises phares de l’entreprise, notamment Assassin’s Creed et Tom Clancy’s.

Grève dans l’industrie en France

Les syndicats des travailleurs du jeu vidéo, notamment ceux des studios français Don’t Nod et Ubisoft, ont appelé à une grève nationale le 12 décembre 2024. Cette mobilisation vise à protester contre les plans de licenciements en cours et à revendiquer une meilleure protection des emplois dans le secteur. Les employés réclament également des conditions de travail plus justes et une transparence accrue dans la gestion des projets.

Rumeurs

• Grand Theft Auto VI : Une  deuxième bande-annonce serait imminente. Selon des insiders réputés, Rockstar Games pourrait dévoiler une première vidéo officielle dans les prochains jours, mettant fin aux spéculations autour du jeu.
• Nintendo : Des rumeurs circulent autour de la prochaine console de Nintendo, supposément équipée d’un écran OLED 4K et d’une rétrocompatibilité totale avec la Switch. L’annonce pourrait avoir lieu début 2025.
• Sony : Un jeu en monde ouvert de science-fiction serait en développement chez un studio interne de PlayStation. Ce projet serait basé sur une nouvelle IP ambitieuse, exploitant pleinement les capacités de la PS5.
